The Whitmarsh Crew: Weekend on Lake Conroe

Last weekend, we took a short trip to Lake Conroe to stay the night in a lakehouse with 3 other couples and their kids. The lakehouse is owned by our friend's parents' and it is an unbelieveable place. The house sits right on Lake Conroe with an amazing waterfront view and pool in the backyard. It is definitely something I could wake up to every morning. We had a blast! The kids especially had fun 'trying' to go to sleep on Friday night. Trying to get 5 kids to go down for the night in the same room is quite a task! Our girls were the first to fall asleep at 9:30 (just like their daddy...they need their beauty rest!) while the other 3 finally got to sleep around 11:00 or so. Needless to say, the kids were exhausted the next day when they got up at their usual 7:00 a.m. wake time. On Saturday, we spent the entire day outside in the pool and on the lake. The girls loved riding on the Mambo (a huge raft pulled by a ski boat). They kept asking me to tell Mr. Chris to go faster while we were being pulled on it. They are such little daredevils. They even had a blast on the jet ski and kept wanting me to go faster on that as well. The girls also went fishing and fed the fish in Lake Conroe. The girls didn't catch anything, but we had fun anyway. The pool was a huge hit. I think we spent 3-4 hours just swimming. And, we spent some time playing on the water trampoline in the lake. On our way to the lake on Friday, the girls asked us if there were sharks in the lake water. And, we told them that there were probably no sharks, but there were alligators. It amazed us that they were still gung-ho on getting into the lake water the next day after we told them about the alligators. No fear! As we were packing up to leave late on Saturday, the girls begged us to stay. We definitely could have stayed longer too, but it was time for us to leave. We were all so exhausted! Literally, 2 minutes after we pulled out of the driveway, the girls were sound to sleep. We can't wait to go back. Here are some fun pictures from the weekend.
