Brad headed out of town on a business trip last week for a couple of days, so we thought it would be a great time for us to take a little trip as well. We headed out to my parents' house in Caldwell for 5 days. We had a great time. We stayed very busy. We even got to spend some time with Uncle Jason and Aunt Meagan. Here are a couple of things we did!
Picking okra and tomatoes out of Gaw Gaw's garden is absolutely one of the girls' favorite things to do. As soon as we got to my parents' house on Saturday, they immediately wanted to go out in the backyard to pick vegetables out of the garden. We made several trips to our family's farm. On one of our trips, we went fishing with Gaw Gaw, Paw Paw, Uncle Jason, and Aunt Meagan. Jason and Meagan caught fish while the rest of us were left empty handed, but we had fun anyway.
We went swimming in Gaw Gaw's and Paw Paw's backyard. It was so much fun to watch the girls jump in and out of the pool.
Then, we thought it would be fun to tour Blue Bell Creamery in Brenham. The last time we took the girls they were 2 years old and it was a memorable experience...one that I would not like to repeat. They were very restless and bored. Now, at the age of 4, the girls actually enjoyed the tour. And, they LOVED the free ice cream we got at the end of the tour. They both chose vanilla and I chose Triple Chocolate (yum! yum! yum!). After the tour, we headed over to the Blue Bell Aquatic Center to go swimming. The sundae slide was a huge hit!
Then, on our last day, we helped Paw Paw feed the cows on the farm before we headed back to Houston. We had so much fun helping Paw Paw throw hay to the cows .
What a weekend we had with lots of fun memories. We can't wait to go back to Gaw Gaw's and Paw Paw's. It's always an action-packed, fun-filled time!
